Androgyne - a short silent film
hey yall it’s Newt!
as you may know, I’m a disabled student with a fixed income. so, in order to (hopefully) help me pay for some of the finer things in life such as food, rent, and tuition, I’ve made a Zazzle store - GenderQweird - to sell my clothing and accessory designs for the discerning gender-nonconformist.
some of my favourites include:

right now most of the designs are pronoun/nonbinary-flag themed, but there will be many more items to come (and with more inclusive gender/pronoun options)!
I’d appreciate signal boosting because this store is brand new and I’d like to get the word out :)
ANDROGYNOUS is an adjective and refers to:
- people/things that appear to have both masculine and feminine qualities, or are indeterminate (i.e. “an androgynous doll”)
- clothing, way of dress, or physical presentation that is simultaneously masculine and feminine, indeterminate, or gender-neutral (i.e. “they dress androgynously”)
- mostly it is used to reference physical appearance
- also used as a gendered adjective, much the same as “masculine” or “feminine”, but does not indicate the gender identity of a person.
- the same way there can be feminine men and masculine women, there can be androgynous people of any gender
ANDROGYNE is a gender identity that is:
- a noun(i.e. “they’re an androgyne”, same as “they’re a boy”)
- a gender that is both masculine and feminine
- may involve fluidity or fluxuation between feeling more masculine or more feminine, or may be a static blend of both
- someone may identify as neither male nor female, or they may identify as simultaneously male and female
- has nothing to do with the way someone dresses
- the same way being a man doesnt indicate whether you dress masculine, feminine, or androgynous, being an androgyne doesnt indicate how you present either.
- androgyne is an internal gender identity, like man or woman or any other gender identity, and should not be conflated with requirements of physical appearance.
- many androgynes also want to appear androgynous, but many don’t, and all of them should be respected as the gender they identify with
thank you
yo
After putting in hours of work over the past four days this site has been up, I can finally say we’re fully open for business.
I’ve created sections for an extensive glossary, a resource page for nonbinary people with several sub-pages coming soon, and a resource page for family and friends, with more resources coming soon.
As far as our blog content goes though, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re all about nonbinary and genderqueer visibility, so we’re looking for submission of art, photography, stories, music, poetry, comics, videos, anything you make to do with your nonbinary gender experience that you’d like to share with others! You’ll receive full credit, of course.
We’d really appreciate you signal-boosting this post so we can reach a wider audience
We’re really excited at how the resource centre is taking off and would like to thank everyone for their support. We can only hope it gets even better with more people joining our community and sharing their stories and experiences.
