attention the trans and nonbinary community living in the UK: the government is planning on streamlining and de-medicalising the process for legally changing your gender!
in order to do so, the government is running a survey for people in the community who are 16 yo and older and currently living in the UK. the survey is anonymous and can be taken here.
the survey will run from the 23rd of july 2017 to the 15th of october 2017
If you have a gender identity that is neither exclusively male or female (i.e. non-binary, genderqueer, gender-variant, genderfluid, agender, etc.)
regardless of your identity, the only requirement for taking the survey is that you do not identify as exclusively male or female (whether transgender or cisgender).
The purpose of the survey is to gather statistical data on language preferences, identities, mental health, intersections of oppression, and other trends and specific issues facing people of (for all intents and purposes) non-binary genders.
The survey is 42 questions, totally anonymous, and takes only a couple of minutes to complete, and will be open for the next week (until June 25, 2015).
I plan to publish any relevant findings on LifeOutsideTheBinary.com
I cannot begin to tell you how important this survey is for the transgender community. The 2011 report and statistics are used EVERYWHERE. It is time to spread the word, and to also participate in this survey. NCTE has the goal of having over 12,000 participants, I think, we can do better folks. Let’s get 30,000!! The information we provide, is what professionals (like myself) use to drive change and create inclusion.
