MTN Transition

heres a rad idea: stop throwing dmab nonbinary people under the bus whenever you talk about nonbinary people as a whole

nonbinary people arent just dfab/transmasculine with colorful undercuts and flat chests

protect dmab nonbinary people who have to deal with this strange notion that masculine features are gender-neutral

protect dmab nonbinary people with deep voices who get misgendered constantly because of it

protect dmab nonbinary people who do everything they can to change their appearance/wardrobe so they dont feel dysphoric

protect dmab nonbinary people who cant

My Problems Dmab Nonbinary Representation

trickster-godex:

  • Everything is dfab centered, from dysphoria ref pages to nb safe spaces, everything where we should be seeing ourselves equally
  • “Masculinity isn’t androgynous” while well-meaning does not do it’s job of helping feminine androgyny grow. It makes people who have no choice but to look masculine (aka dmab people) feel like shit
  • When we are brought up, it’s in two ways: posts that are ‘sorry’ we aren’t mentioned more, or us being lumped in with trans women
  • Being ‘sorry’ doesn’t do shit, how about do something proactive so apologizing isn’t necessary
  • While trans women are wonderful, we are not the same. We have different needs. Many of us can’t find refuge in feminine things like (most) trans women b/c nb people often don’t feel comfortable expressing masculine or feminine.
  • While reference guides for tucking are nice, we need more dysphoria refs. We don’t all tuck. We need other information spread too (safe hair removal for instance, which after years of growing hair I personally know jack shit about)
  • Inclusion. If you’re running an nb help blog, or an advice column, or anything like that, you’d better have at least one dmab mod, if not, more. Otherwise you’re really not helping us.
  • Community. Spread posts and information about and for dmab people. Make sure your community spaces are inclusive and welcoming to us so we don’t feel guilty for being around. It’s not fair for us to feel unwelcome because we can’t see ourselves where we have every right to be
  • Please reblog this, or contact me if I was too vague about a point or incorrect about something
  • Other dmab nb people: feel free to talk to me, I’m here for you

trans people taking testosterone need to drink orange juice cause testosterone weakens your immune system!! trans people taking estrogen need to drink milk cause estrogen causes calcium to be absorbed less

If you’re lactose intolerant you can eat nuts and if you’re allergic to oranges, most other fruits have vitamin c. If fruits aren’t an option, there’s also vitamin c supplements.

Good info. Pass it on.

How do I make my masculine walk more feminine?

transgenderteensurvivalguide:

Chrissi says:

This is really an important part of transition for trans feminine folks, and one gender therapists seem to forget. Here’s some steps that should help.

  1. Focus your weight into your hips. Cismales tend to walk with their weight in their arms or stomachs. Think of a model walking a runway — her steps are light and her shoulders are back.

  2. Swing your hips as you step. While an overly enthusiastic swing will certainly be noticeable, most ciswomen walk with a subtle hip swing. Practice by walking around your home and exaggerating the swing, then tone it down when you hit the street.

  3. Slow it down. If you observe ciswomen in a shop or casual setting, or searching for a shiny Charizard, that was stolen from them at school (not bitter), you will notice that they tend to browse and meander. It’s not uncommon for a ciswoman to walk like she’s on a mission, but mimicking these browsing habits can make you appear more feminine.

  4. Swing your arms gently and point your elbows in toward your torso. A light swing comes off as feminine, and turning the elbows results in creating a smaller silhouette.

  5. Relax your muscles and allow your body to move more fluidly. If you’re wearing a wig, ensure it is secured so you can move your head freely. Rigid posture will make you appear more manly than feminine. Don’t relax too much though, or you’ll be sitting down, and this helps no one.

    I know you didn’t ask but here’s a bonus:

Tips on walking in heels, a lot struggle, even ciswomen, and Princess Leia..

POSTURE: Heels pitch weight forward, so for balance, keep your head up and shoulders back. Tightening your core will offset some of the pressure on your feet.

STEPS: Striding in a normal heel-to-toe motion can snap a stiletto or twist an ankle. Instead take short steps, going down evenly on the ball of the foot and heel. But remember heel-to-toe is the best way if you’re walking in sturdy heels.

WEIGHT: As your weight shifts fully onto a foot, spread your toes in the shoe slightly; this will help to distribute the weight onto the ball of the foot.

HIPS: When you’re feeling off-balance, you tend to stiffen up. For an easy, attractive momentum, let your hips swing in small, sideways, figure-eight motions.

These should help you appear more Kate Moss, and less Bambi on ice.

    Much love

  • Fat trans girls are important.
  • Tall trans girls are important.
  • Muscular trans girls are important.
  • Hairy trans girls are important.
  • Trans girls with square jaws, and broad shoulders are important.

Stop only supporting trans girls who you find “feminine” or “passable” lol.

desdeotromar:

mostly for new followers: i wrote a novel about a Latina trans girl in living South Texas (basically me). it’s not perfect or anything, but it’s the kind of book that i wanted to be there for me. if you’re a trans woman (or trans fem or amab non binary) then you can download the novel for free here. if you’re not a trans woman you can buy a copy here.

OutOfThisBinary YouTube is looking for DMAB non-binary vloggers to join our collab channel!

outofthisbinary:

OutOfThisBinary is a non-binary collaboration YouTube channel that (usually) has 7 members, we post videos every day with different topics each week.

soon two of our members will be leaving the channel, which means we wont have any DMAB members on the channel anymore. we pride ourselves on attempting to provide equal representation of different non-binary people and experiences, so of course this just won’t do.

If you identify as any kind of non-binary, are able to record and post weekly videos, and would like to be a part of this channel, you can apply by posting a short video telling us a bit about yourself and why you want to be on the channel.

you can submit the video by posting it to youtube and submitting a link to us, submitting the video file directly, or posting the video on your personal blog and @ outofthisbinary in it.

we look forward to hearing from you!

Calling dmab non-binary people!

deanwinchesterinmyheart:

So I’m a part of a group of 9 who are looking to start a non-binary collab youtube channel with information and opinions and fun.  We’re all currently dfab and we’re looking for a little dmab diversity!  If anyone would like to join us, that would be awesome!  add me on facebook and send me a message!

A bit about our channel.  It was inspired by ftmtranstastic and collab channels similar to that.  So there will be weekly topics we respond to and upload videos to… fun stuff.

So yeah, if you’re dmab and interested, hit me up!
