why you shouldnt say gerard is transbaiting part two: alternative title i cant believe i have to make these posts but once again, cis people constatnly amaze me and not in a good way

i have never been this livid in my fucking life so if none of this makes sense, whatever. im gonna disprove some common arguments here as quickly and consisly as i can and show you why youre probably being transphobic

• “gerard uses he/him pronouns” this does not make him cis, as pronouns have no genders, he/him isnt just for boys, im not a boy, but i use he/him because i like it. i know tons of people who do this. saying gerard uses he/him pronouns means he’s cis is incredible erasure of non binary people = transphobia
• “gerard is ambigious about his gender.” gerard doesnt have to come out, surprise! he owes you nothing. him being ambiguous about how he identifies with the female gender, how he has experienced gender confusion, does not make this any less important. gerard is amiguous because thats how he is and how he always will be! enforcing the idea that gerard needs to come out supports the idea of cisheteronormativity, which says that you are cis and straight unless proven otherwise, which is really gross. this argument also applies to “he never said he was trans!”
• “gerard is using transness as a way to make himself money" first of all, fuck you, second of all how. trans people are notoriously some of the people with the least amount of money, let alone just a bunch of spare money to throw at gerard. i don’t understand how having lola be nonbinary and how gerard calling out trans fans at his shows is going to result in this huge profit increase? have you ever been to one of those shows, in the heat of the moment, and gerard is talking about how trans people are strong and beautiful and how he loves them? because it is honestly, as a trans kid, one of the best feelings in the entire world. i’ve never felt more happy then at that moment where in a world where my parents, my friends, random people on the street, don’t think i exist, think i’m wrong, think i’m disgusting, but this person is using his platform to call attention to the fact that trans people are beautiful and amazing. trying to shut down this by saying its to make money not only leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but makes no fucking sense. get a better argument 
• "gerard presents masculine still" two things to say about this one, one is gerard may have presented masculine for years, but he also enjoys presenting as sort of androgynous. gerard has worn dresses and skirts, gerard has worn makeup since he was 18. gerard has expressed that he identifies more with the female gender and has felt that he never fit into the idea of masculinity. this is 1. false because this 2. false because clothing and makeup are made up things that we gave a gender for no fucking reason and 3. even if he did present as masculine there is a difference between your gender identity and your gender expression. he can be nonbinary and present masculine. a cis boy can be cis and wear a dress. a trans girl can be a girl and wear “”boy clothes”“” because your gender doesnt equate to how you dress
  
• *something about being gender critical* as a cis person you dont get to be critical of any trans persons gender, you dont get to decide who and what makes the “ideal trans” because theres no set definition. there is no cookie-cutter perfect way to be trans, the only set thing that makes you trans is if you don’t identify with whatever gender you were assigned as when you were born. dysphoria not required
  
• "i think hes faking it" i have nothing to say to you other than examine closely why you think hes faking gender confusion for attention and praise, because youre probably buying into “transtrender” ideologies, which are transphobic and disgusting
